Law Office Cordula E. Niklaus

After her studies at the Faculty of Law and Economics at the University of Berne and her patenting as an advocate in Berne, Cordula Niklaus worked for six years first as an internal legal advisor in the legal and tax department and then as deputy general secretary at a life insurance company in Basel. She then moved to Zurich and worked as a senior manager first at Revisuisse Pricewaterhouse and after the merger as a national partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and at the Corresponding Law Firm to PricewaterhouseCoopers in Switzerland. She came into contact with data protection, data security and information technology law a good 25 years ago and was actively involved in interdisciplinary projects in these areas of law both in Switzerland and abroad.

As a founding partner of the law firm niclaw, she has been advising small and medium-sized enterprises in the areas of general contract, labour and corporate law as well as data protection and information technology law since 2002.

For around two decades, Cordula Niklaus also lectured on the legal aspects of data protection and data security, IT auditing, copyright and e-commerce law at various universities and technical colleges, such as the Swiss Chamber of Chartered Accountants EXPERTsuisse, the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and was a columnist in various magazines on IT law topics.

She is also the honorary co-president of the “Data Protection Forum Switzerland”, and as an active rider for over 50 years, in addition to dressage riding, she is also involved as an official with the Swiss Equestrian Federation (SVPS) as a dressage judge and in the Dressage Expert Commission.
